I live in Panama City and 7 of us rode out the storm. We lost two additions to our house, half of our roof, the roof off of our shed a 100 year old Oak tree smashed into our house. There’s no way I’ll stay through another hurricane I don’t care how high the winds are. The insurance company made the cost of insurance unaffordable so we lost everything. That’s a household of three family’s without anything. I’ll never do something so stupid again.

These government scientists that mutilated the temperature records and sea level records to scare the public with global warming are supposed to be trusted with the hurricane rating system? The weather station data does not support a category 4 rating.

Lived in Calhoun County just east of Bay County and Panama city, This was my old neighborhood, would go to Panama city for shopping and eating, go to Mexico Beach to swim, My brother is without power and disable, I have 30 acres with pines and pecan tress they make me around $750 a year use it to pay for property taxes All gone probable lost around $20,000 in trees myself, was going to cut them in a couple of years and finish paying off our house we only owe $25,000 on it now, but that will not happen

That's NOT steel you pampered sheltered inexperienced city boy, it's called aluminum, and it's light and it flies. The ONLY part of a building anymore that's steel is the columns and possibly a couple of supporting frames. What YOU are standing in is almost 100% aluminum.

I just love how these fresh-faced weather fools try SO hard and sneakily to hype up stories as they stand outside trying to drum up emotions. Pathetic really.

That atomic bomb comment was unnecessary and false. It also hit a bad nerve. As truthfully an atomic bomb is much more devastating than a hurricane. Not dissing those who have went through the hurricane, but even associating it to an an atomic bomb....bad mention

A devastating storm. Prayers for all impacted. Unfortunately the news do not have their facts correct as this was not the lowest pressure hurricane to hit the USA. Michael’s reading was 919 mb, Camille was 900 mb, Katrina was 902 mb, Rita 895 mb, Allen 899 mb, 1935 hurricane 892 mb, Gilbert 888 mb, and Hurricane Wilma so far is still the lowest on record at 882 mb. Others that were bad but higher readings than Michael are; Andrew at 922 mb, Harvey at 938 mb, Sandy at 940 mb, and Irma at 914 mb. The great Galveston hurricane of 1900 had 936 mb reading.
