Superbowl LII: Did Bill Belichick Purposely Throw the Game?

  • Yayınlanma Tarihi:  8 ay önce
  • How far would you go to teach someone a lesson? In this mini documentary I go behind the scenes and reveal to the average fan, that the patriots losing Superbowl LII may have been just as much about turmoil in the Patriots locker room as it was the Eagles playing great ***This video contains copyrighted material, I do not own the rights to. Had they traded Tom Brady, what a day it would have been to see him being traded to the cowboys. I'm a Patriots fan always have but if they trade Brady I wish they trade him to the cowboys and give them a ring or two. 😁

The real question is will Bill do it again this year ? Signs are showing he is. So many draft picks and you don’t go for it all besides Josh Gordon? You don’t pull the trigger on defense players?

I thought this as well while watching the game in real time. Glad to see I wasn't the only one.

The most liked comment here says this is the result of a Pats fan making excuses. How so? I mean everything said in this video is spot on to the point he also plays sound clips from analysts and sports anchors pretty much echoing everything he says in the video himself. Belichick is a petty man who is a power and control freak. He is KNOWN to hold grudges. The rift/drama between him and Brady+Kraft is pretty well documented over the last 2 years or so. Belichick not allowing Brady's personal trainer to travel with the team was CLEARLY a "put him in his place" move so blatantly obvious, this non-AFC fan let alone Patriots fan could clearly see it. Belichick didn't want to trade Garoppolo. Hell, he was literally drafted to take over for Brady because who in their right mind would've thought Brady would or would want to keep playing well into his 40s? Then when Garoppolo showed he had the goods it was clear he was going to be the successor. But then Brady himself came out and said he plans on playing until he's 45 if he's allowed to, saying he credits his diet and training keeping him at the level he's still at despite being on the wrong side of 40.... FORTY..... usually you say the wrong side of 35..... Brady's WELL beyond that. So when Brady says this in a press conference it really ties Belichick's hands. The owner, Kraft, is just a bumbling dumbass fan pretty much and he'll do whatever Brady wants, because in his eyes, like most fans, Brady's the one executing the plays and making shit happen on the field. There's only 1 Brady. Belichick clearly took this personally. Hell, it's reported.... WIDELY that he took it personally. With Brady saying he's not going anywhere and then the owner being cool with that because he's a homer of a fan, has a meeting and tells Belichick Brady ain't going anywhere. So while perceived as a petty move, Belichick fairly quickly turns around and trades what he wanted and thought his future QB would be in Garoppolo to the 49ers for pretty much nothing. The offseason before the trade was made in season people were thinking the trade would happen before or during the draft and that the return for Garoppolo would be at LEAST a first rounder if not a first AND second round pick. At the time I'm not going to lie, I thought that was a ridiculous asking price, but I thought at least one first round pick or one of the first 3 picks in the 2nd round surely would get it done...... but it would have to be for that draft. I mean Garoppolo wasn't some 5th round or later QB. He was taken in the 2nd round when Bill drafted him. He was a highly scouted QB. Him then benching Butler for no real good reason was very suspect. That decision right there was HEAVILY scrutinized. Everything just seemed fishy about the whole thing.

Now as for Brady spotting Belichick on the sideline and then avoiding him or whatnot.... who knows. Are we supposed to take this dude's word that Belichick is right off screen? Meh. Whatever. But one thing is certain - Belichick did a lot of things in 2017 and during that Super Bowl that aren't very Belichick-like.... which is pretty much doing anything and everything to win. Benching one of your best players in the secondary for no real good reason is most definitely an eyebrow raiser. His spat/feud between him and Brady+Kraft is also no secret. Will I say he "threw" the game? No. But he definitely didn't coach the game.

That all said, let's look back at the seemingly "nothing" he got for Garoppolo as everyone loves to say is the case. Listen to this trading wizardry Belichick has pulled off.... so far with that lone 2nd round pick he got from San Fran.

The 2nd round pick he got was ultimately the 43rd overall pick in 2018. He then trades that pick to Detroit for their 2nd round pick (51st) and 4th round pick (117th). With the 43rd pick the Lions pick KERRYON JOHNSON

He then trades the 51st overall pick to Chicago for Chicago's 4th round pick (105th) and their 2nd round pick in 2019. With the 51st pick the Bears take ANTHONY MILLER

That 117th pick he got from Detroit in that first trade is then packaged with New England's 63rd overall pick they already had and traded to Tampa Bay to get the 56th overall pick. He then drafts CB Duke Dawson with said pick.

He then trades that 105th pick he got from Chicago to Cleveland for their 114th pick in the 4th round and their 178th pick in the 6th round.

He then trades that 4th round, 114th pick to Detroit in exchange for Detroit's 3rd Round pick in 2019

With that 178th pick he drafts LB Christian Sam.

SO..... so far he has turned Jimmy Garoppolo into CB Duke Dawson..... who has been sidelined and on IR with a Hamstring injury, but just today he was activated. LB Christian Sam has also spent all season on IR.... his return is questionable. BUT he still has Chicago's 2nd round pick and Detroit's 3rd round pick.... which if Detroit keeps sucking balls, could be a pretty high pick in that 3rd round. And knowing Belichick and his love of acquiring as many picks as possible and seemingly turning turd picks into gold, I'm sure he's not done officially completing that Garoppolo trade yet. Won't be shocked if he moves either that 2nd or 3rd round pick in this upcoming draft.... if not both of them. But so far Garoppolo has turned into a 2018 2nd round pick in Dawson, a 2018 6th round pick in Sam, a 2nd round pick in 2019, and a 3rd round pick in 2019. That's two 2nd round picks, a 3rd round pick, and a 6th round pick for what was ultimately your backup QB. Not too shabby. And he'll likely turn it into more yet. Again, not a Pats or an AFC fan in general. Bears fan here (who FINALLY has something to cheer for this year). I just think Belichick is a mad genius. I also love how he puts the media in their place and doesn't tell them jack shit..... I LOVE that, haha. But did he throw super bowl 52? I wouldn't say "throw" but I would say he did seem pretty indifferent. While I think he's a genius it's no secret he holds grudges tighter than a woman. That whole 2017 season was nothing but "women drama" in New England. It culminated in the Super Bowl when Belichick used his power to bench his best playmaker in the secondary and pretty much told his OC and DC to coach the game and left it up to Brady himself to win the game with little to no help from Belichick. And while I'm sure Belichick hates the fact he lost a Super Bowl which would just add to his legacy and pump up his already large ego - I'm sure he thoroughly enjoyed watching a downtrodden Brady doing press conferences post-game..... and putting him in his place and showing the organization they not only need Brady, but more importantly.... himself. While I'm sure he thinks Brady is still a fine QB I guarantee you he loathes the fact he undermined him and went to Kraft about Garoppolo and how he feels like he might be traded soon but doesn't want to quit playing just yet, and then to the media saying he has 0 intentions of retiring soon and says he plans on playing until he's at least 45 as long as he's physically able. I think it's pretty petty of Belichick..... but also masterfully "evil genius"-like. And I think that is pretty badass. So once more, did he toss the game? No. But he definitely didn't have it in his hands to throw it.... because he really didn't coach the game IMO. If he REALLY wanted to win he wouldn't bench one of his best defensive players. Also, reading articles about the benching, it apparently was reported Kraft wasn't informed that Butler was going to be benched. So yeah.... I think Belichick went into that game pretty much putting as much pressure on Brady to win it and show both Brady and Kraft that without Belichick the team is nothing. It just seems like a deviously evil thing Belichick would do. I love it, haha. Benching Butler in that game would've been like the Eagles benching Zach Ertz or Fletcher Cox. A key cog in their passing game or on their defense. Makes no sense. And if you don't think Butler is at that level of clout as either Ertz or Cox, then why did the Titans throw a ton of money at him this last offseason, giving him $30M guaranteed on a 5 year $61M deal. That's top tier CB money.
